Ibiza has received a perfectly executed face-lift in recent years as its discerning visitors demand luxurious resorts, fine international dining and exceptional service. A relatively new addition is the Revival Spa, spanning almost the entire basement of the hotel. The spacious, super-trendy Revival Spa has just about every treatment, massage, detox plan and stress eliminator one could dream of. The spa offers a complete escape from the realities of modern life offering a sauna, hammam, Turkish bath, cold pool, ice fountain, jet pool, relaxation pool, Feng Shui pool, solarium, gym and tea bar. Not forgetting the numerous calming treatment rooms.
My companion opted for the Lomi Lomi massage: based on ancient Polynesian techniques, it revitalises the body’s energy whilst eliminating muscular contractures (110euros/50min). I sampled the Thai Tradition massage: a 2500 year old technique through which the body enters a state of complete relaxation, during which the masseur applies various yoga positions to stretch and relax the muscles (145euros/80min). Other experiences include the Watsu, which takes place in a warm water pool, allowing the body to float in the water which relaxes the nervous system entirely (110 euros/50min), and Volcanic Rocks, a therapy used by indigenous peoples for decades to maintain health and balance through which heat is transmitted through the rocks into the body, relaxing tension caused by stress (110euros/50min).
Other treatments and experiences include manicures, pedicures, kickboxing, dance, yoga, pilates, meditation, aqua spinning along with personal training and nutrition consultations.
Having visited twice whilst staying at the hotel, we actually revisited when in a villa on a separate holiday. The expert staff exude confidence and a warm, friendly nature, and treatments and massages can be given by male or female professionals.
